Statement of U.S. Senators Russ Feingold and Thad
Cochran
On Passage of the Senate Campaign Disclosure Parity Act through
the Senate Rules Committee
March 28, 2007
“Today the Senate is one step closer to catching up with the
times. We are very pleased that the Senate Rules Committee has reported
a clean version of our bill, the Senate Campaign Disclosure Parity Act.
We will ask the Majority Leader to bring the bill up promptly, so that
in 2008 candidates for the Senate will be required to file their campaign
finance reports electronically, as candidates for President and the
House have done for years. This bill was first introduced nearly three
and a half years ago and it is time for the Senate to swiftly enact
this much-needed reform.”
