Statement of U.S. Senator Russ Feingold
On the President’s Failure to Create a New Strategy for
Iraq
“It has been six weeks since Americans overwhelmingly called
for a change in our Iraq policy through the ballot box. The President
continues to ignore this demand for change from the American people
as well as from members of both parties. Instead of continuing with
an Iraq-centric policy that is hurting our national security and straining
our military, the President should announce a timetable for the redeployment
of U.S. troops from Iraq so we can refocus on the global fight against
terrorist networks.”
