Statement of U.S. Senator Russ Feingold
On the President’s Further Delay of a New Plan for Iraq
December 13, 2006
“It’s been over a month since the American people went
to the polls and soundly rejected the President’s strategy in
Iraq. Since then, 105 more brave Americans have been killed in Iraq.
The President says he’s “not going to be rushed” into
coming up with a new plan, but further delay is simply unacceptable.
We need a timeline to redeploy our troops from Iraq and refocus on the
global fight against terrorism. If the president won’t act on
a timeline, Congress needs to do so right away next year.” |
