Statement of Senator Russ Feingold
On the Passing of Coretta Scott King
January 31, 2006
I join all Americans today in mourning the loss of Coretta Scott King,
who bravely carried the torch of civil rights after the assassination
of her husband, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Mrs. King’s courage
and resilience inspired millions to never give up the dream of equality
for all Americans. As we mourn the passing of Mrs. King, we must honor
her life by ensuring that her message of peace and justice marches on.
