Health Care Medicare
For years, I have fought for Wisconsin to
receive its fair share of Medicare dollars. It is troubling
that the Medicare reimbursement for a given procedure is much
higher in other states than in Wisconsin simply because of
an outdated and flawed Medicare reimbursement formula.
This flawed reimbursement formula negatively affects seniors,
employers, employees, and health care providers across our
state. I was pleased to be part of a successful effort to
make the payment structure fairer when Congress passed the
Medicare Modernization Act of 2003. I will continue working
to reduce the inequities in Medicare reimbursement payments.
