Aug. 2, 1996 Senator Feingold makes a floor statement concerning the Supreme Court's opinion in the Colorado Republican Party case.

June 25, 1996 Continuation of the McCain-Feingold Bill debate. The Senate rejects a cloture motion to close debate on S. 1219 by a vote of 54-46. (60 votes are needed to end debate.)

June 24, 1996 The Senate begins debate on the McCain-Feingold Bill.

June 20, 1996 S. 1219 is discharged from the Senate Rules Committee by unanimous consent and debated on the Senate floor.

July 20, 1995 Senator Feingold offers a Sense of the Senate resolution asking that the Senate consider campaign finance reform legislation before the end of the 104th Congress. The resolution is adopted after a motion to table fails by a 41-57 vote. Senator Feingold makes a floor statement in support of the resolution.
